Shannon Brown Papacosta
I am excited to be a part of Explore Prime Academy. I have been an educator for the past 22 years teaching grades TK-4. Most recently, I served as the ELD/Reading Intervention teacher for students in grades K-6. I have had the privilege of opening two charter school campuses: one in San Bernardino County and the other in Orange County, so I know the excitement that comes with being a part of the inaugural opening of a school. I am passionate about making learning enjoyable for students by incorporating hands-on activities that are rooted in play-based learning. I am thrilled to serve as the 3rd grade teacher and the Lead Teacher for our 3rd-6th grade team at Explore!

5th Grade Teacher
Tiffany Cabrales
Aloha, my name is Ms. Tiffany Cabrales. As a teacher, my classroom vision is us growing together and learning from one another. I always strive to foster my students’ three homes: our body, community and our MIND! A little about me, my ethnicity is Japanese, Filipino. My mom grew up in Hawaii and I was raised an island girl residing in the lively city of Los Angeles. I love the beach and adore all forms of nature. So at any point you want to talk about the beauty of this universe and its functions or systems, I am your teacher! In regards to my professional history, I wanted to serve my community through healing, so I worked in the Emergency Room as a clinical pharmacy technician during undergrad. Eventually, my path led me into the study of philosophy. I received my degree in the arts, with credits in the hard sciences. Still avid about the STEAM curriculum, I decided to share knowledge about the natural world through teaching. I excitingly earned a Multiple-Teaching Credential at Cal State University of Los Angeles, while also substitute teaching for several different school districts. Now credentialed for two years, I have taught 5th grade for two years and Robotics for one year in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Since I still carry an affinity for student life, I plan to further my academic career to earn a foundational math and foundational science credential.
This upcoming school year, for your children, I hope to instill this same admiration for learning, knowledge, creativity, and imagination!
