Executive Director and Founding Principal
Dr. Laura Schlottman is the Executive Director and Founding Principal at Explore Prime Academy. With a deep commitment to academic excellence and community engagement, Dr. Schlottman is dedicated to creating inclusive and nurturing learning environments where students can thrive.

As a first-generation college student, Dr. Schlottman's journey in education is rooted in gratitude and a relentless work ethic. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCLA, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from USC, and an EdD in Leadership from Concordia University Irvine.

Dr. Schlottman has held impactful leadership roles in education, including Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean of Academics, and Math teacher. She has achieved significant milestones such as increasing enrollment, securing grants, implementing innovative curricula, and revitalizing community partnerships. Her leadership philosophy centers around empowering others toward the collective pursuit of academic excellence and student achievement.

Based in Orange County, Dr. Schlottman is dedicated to making profound contributions to education in her community. She is committed to continuous professional development and lifelong learning, distinguishing herself as a dynamic and influential leader in the field of education.
Dr. Schlottman is excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for Explore Prime Academy and is always open to questions, concerns, or ideas from families and the community. She looks forward to inspiring, empowering, and transforming lives through education.
Founder
Involved in the charter school movement since its early years where he started charter schools nationally and oversaw start-up operations for 17 years Worked with leading national charter school management organizations, state and national charter school policy leaders, and local authorizers to shape the landscape to improve student achievement for urban students Currently supports the movement by providing low-cost capital facilities financing, and assisting Boards with strengthening charter school governance, oversight and policy work Recently retired Senior Army Officer with more than 34 years of leadership at tactical, operational and strategic levels; service in Iraq and at Ground Zero at 9/11.
